Jack of all trades, master of none! As agriculture teachers our content is diverse and sometimes that content includes fire, hot metal, and a question of how to teach the content we aren’t familiar with. Skills and trades are hard to teach, especially if you aren’t a professional in that field. In this session, you will learn some easy things to implement into your welding unit or class that allows you to teach, engage, assess, and provide feedback even if you aren’t a master of the trade. You will also receive a few labs that you can implement into your shop today to help you and your students master the basics. This session will knock the slag off and allow you to use your professional knowledge of how to teach in the classroom to teaching a trade skill such as welding in the shop!
